"Don't Touch Me", Kolaborasi Antar Ego Musisi Perempuan Lintas Genre

Seperti kita tahu, baik Marion, Danilla dan Ramengvrl masing-masing memiliki genre dan gaya musik yang berbeda. Marion Jola dengan pop R&B-nya, Danilla dengan indie folk-nya ditambah Ramengvrl dengan warna musik rap hip-hop, menjadikan single “Don’t Touch Me” ssedikit membingungkan karena karakter masing-masing begitu kuat.

Alunan musik pop dengan sentuhan swing sangat kentara di single “Don’t Touch Me”. Namun, harmonisasi dari ciri khas masing-masing terasa kurang saling mengalah, sehingga seperti tiga lagu yang disatukan.

Di luar ulasan Popbela, "Don't Touch Me" dirilis di bawah bendera label rekaman Universal Music Indonesia dan ditulis oleh mereka bertiga. Membuatnya lebih deep dari sisi penulisan lirik. 

Coba saja dengarkan dan baca liriknya, "Don't Touch Me" berbicara tentang women empowerment, suatu isu yang sangat dekat dengan kehidupan mereka bertiga sebagai perempuan. Ada tiga cerita kemarahan dari mereka masing-masing sebagai penegasan dari isi pesan yang ingin disampaikan.

Menurut mereka, masih banyak perempuan di dunia yang harus menghadapi stereotip tradisional yang dilabelkan pada keluarga atau lingkungan mereka. Sudah seharusnya perempuan memiliki self-worth, kepercayaan diri, dan kebebasan untuk membuat pilihan sendiri. Seperti itu mereka memaknai isi pesan dari single “Don’t Touch Me” ini.

Women empowerment ini dapat dikatakan sebagai salah satu cara bagi perempuan untuk mendapatkan pengakuan dan kesadaran diri akan potensi dan kelayakan yang dimilikinya dalam menghadapi dunia yang penuh dengan konfrontasi gender bias.

Semenjak teknologi digital semakin berkembang, penjualan karya musik dalam bentuk fisik semakin berkurang. Sebab, penikmat musik merasa musik yang disajikan dalam bentuk digital lebih praktis untuk dinikmati. Namun, ternyata hal ini menimbulkan rasa rindu tersendiri terhadap karya dalam bentuk fisik yang dapat dijadikan sebagai benda koleksi.

Menyadari hal ini, Marion mengatakan bahwa ke depannya, "Don't Touch Me" akan masuk ke dalam album barunya dan dirilis dalam bentuk fisik.

"Untuk ke depannya, lagu ini akan ada dalam bentuk fisik. Tapi, masih belum tahu lagu apa lagi yang akan masuk ke dalam album ini nantinya," kata Marion dalam konferensi pers yang diselenggarakan secara virtual pada Kamis, 10 Juni 2021.
